Unit 340 - Southern Comfort

We had a wonderful stay at Southern Comfort and definitely plan to return to GTB, with our family! We loved the quiet Fall weekend—crisp mornings with beautiful sunrises & live music at the Tiki Turtle was a great way to end the night. We enjoyed the short hop into Grand Rivers for coffee, the Tap Room & dinner. I could sit on the deck and read for hours! The only thing that kept me from all 5 stars was the tub definitely needs to be replaced. The shower & water pressure were amazing, but I would not want my littles soaking in the tub/playing with the non working jets. Beyond that, 5 stars all the way!!!

Stayed here 2 years ago and was happy to see some improvements like the flooring and recliner chairs. It would be nice to have some written instruction on the TV operation method, especially in the bedroom. The dishwasher is very small.

Shelly and I stayed in #340 and had a wonderful time. We always stay in the fall to take advantage of the 3 for 2 night stay discount. We choose #340 because it is a one bedroom - just quaint enough for two. The condo is situated lake front, as I love to fish. It has all the conveniences of home and is decorated "so cute" as my wife says. The condo is very clean and the clean-up rules are very minimum. I recommend this condo and area for anyone wanting a little get away. The Marina has restaurants, Patti's 1880 Settlement is very close by with restaurants, shopping, ice cream, grocery stores and more. We visited the KY dam, the KY Dam golf course, the Badgett Playhouse and the Lighthouse Landing lighthouse. Lots of things to do for an extended weekend. We have been visiting here off and on over 10 years and plan to always come back.

We had a two night stay booked. Staff was absolutely outstanding. Boat rental was great, new boat, knowledgeable staff, fun places to go on the lake. The condo was very clean, but was in need of some basic maintenance. Tub caulking, touch up paint, just little things. All that said, we may have chosen the absolute worst time to visit. The air temperature was around 100 both days, and the lake temperature was above 90. Lots of dead or dying fish = a very bad smell. We were not able to secure a boat for the second day so we tried the beach. The fish smell was too overwhelming. Obviously, we do not hold this against the resort as its just nature. Overall, we love Green Turtle Bay and will be coming back. We just need to plan our timing a little better.

Over the years, we have stayed in several GTB condos. Condo #340 was clean. Living room furniture & mattress were comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. Office staff was very friendly & helpful during check-in & check-out.

Picked up our key cards easily for late check in. Standalone townhouse (don't know how else to describe these nice units) was in great shape. Enjoyed sitting out on the back deck when the weather cooperated. Had dinner outside 3 nites in a row at the Thirsty Turtle. Did a mid day visit to the Bison & Elk prairie in Land Between the Lake one day. Enjoying birding at the Barkley Dam another day.

I felt at home. The decor was lovely. We had everything we needed. Well maintained and clean.
The view was spactacular. I might suggest replacing the rug in the bathroom and the bath tub needs updating. A walk in shower would be great. I hope to stay there again.

My husband and I rented a Bayside Condo for a weekend this summer. It was the perfect size and set up for the two of us to have a relaxing getaway. The unit was clean and well maintained. We had a nice glimpse of the lake through the trees. It would be even more beautiful in the fall. We were able to rent a boat and enjoy a day on the lake. Due to COVID-19, we were looking to get away but stay away from crowds. This spot worked out perfectly for us. We could even hear the music from the bar out on the point, enjoying our own refreshments and the entertainment from the deck. Exactly what we were looking for.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! If I had a year to describe the experience there still wouldn't be enough words. My wife and I were surprised with a fully decorated condo with banners, signs, stars, and flowers. The pontoon boat was equally decorated with red, white, and blue balloons, an American flag and a US Navy flag Honoring my service. Becky, Chad , Steve, Sasha, and Tanya (?) did more than what was ever expected to make it one incredible and memorable experience. We will NEVER forget one minute of the time spent there and your effort to make it an unforgettable event. We give you a truly heart felt Thank you. We'll BE BACK!

I called the resort to make reservations. It being off-season we got 10% off. They also offer to buy two get 3rd night for a lesser fee but I don't think you get both. We decided to stay another night.
I chose 340 bc it had a bathtub with jets. We found everything as it was described.
There are 10-15 gradual steps going down to the unit so be aware of that.
We found a lot of the resort closed for the season but there are things to enjoy.
We had a couple's massage and haircuts at the Jade & Earth spa. There is an indoor pool and saunas there but we never used them.
We went into Grand Rivers and partook in the play at Badgett Playhouse. I prebought tickets online. I would recommend doing that as it filled up fast. Since it was getting close to Thanksgiving we enjoyed their Christmas Extravaganza show.
We stopped into the Thirsty Turtle Tavern on the property and had a beverage and appetizer, however, we did the majority of dining in the condo.
We found the kitchen adequately stocked. Pots, pans, utensils, BBQ, all accessible. If dining out is your preference the Yacht Club looked like it would have been nice. Bring coffee!
I washed a load of clothes and the water backed up in the tub the second day. There was no maint. person on-site to fix it so we had to pack up and move. They offered a 1 bedroom. It had no jet tub and was not decorated or furnished as nicely. I wasn't thrilled about moving all our stuff to be downgraded.
Although not the norm, the lady at the front desk finally arranged it so to give us a much larger and nicer 2 bedroom (327) to make us happy. We were so thankful and grateful for that. It made our wonderful anniversary even more memorable.
We will go back to GTB Resort again (and again). We will aim to get a 2-bedroom one b/c it was just so gorgeous and the view spectacular even though 340 was awesome too!
Suggestions would be to have a printed TV guide or instructions for the TV's and step lighting g

The Green Turtle Bay 3 nights for the price of 2 offer is the best off-season vacation getaway deal in Kentucky. My wife and I have been coming here for years at the end of my high school coaching seasons to take advantage of the fully equipped stand-alone condo rentals. With many great lakeside views from the condo or within short walks, and excellent restaurants, golf courses, hunting, and fishing, there is a lot to do or do nothing but relax.

Our 5th year and do not even think about going elsewhere. We are a retired couple that cannot travel far from home Green Turtle Bay offers us exactly what we need. When others come to visit they usually come back, but staying in their own unit. This Nov. we will be sharing thanksgiving with our family joining us there. Can't begin to say enough. Our associate pastor came for the first time and said it is like having a tiny peace of heaven.

We absolutely loved Green Turtle Bay Resort! It was our first time to stay there, and we pretty much loved everything about it! Even though our condo unit 340. did not have what you would call a Bayview because of the trees, we could still see a peek of the water, and we loved that it was much more secluded than some of the other condo seem to be! It was very clean and accommodating, and we loved the covers tables with seating by the water at the Thirsty Turtle! We took advantage of the workout facility and truly enjoyed the pool as well! We have already booked another stay in October!

Condo 340 was absolutely clean and beautiful. Great location and close the lake. There are several steps to get to the condo but it worth it! The bed was very comfortable and clean. We only had a few minor issues. The TV in the living area picture is a bit fuzzy on some channels and sound kept going slow and then back to normal whiling watching shows. We notice that you can not get as many channels in the bedroom as living room TV. Wash machine would get unbalanced easily someone might have washed too large of a load since the washer is smaller than standard home washers. The condo was great and would rent it again.

Where do I begin The Condo was perfect with lots of windows,large deck with grill and perfect view of the bay. Jetted Tub was great after the LBL trail run. Large comfy bed. Great place to view wild life and for birding and to be right in the middle of KY and Barley Lakes plus Indoor heated pool and a sauna. Office workers were wonderful, met all our needs. Cant wait to go back !!!

We met friends at Green Turtle for a long weekend. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed shopping in the quaint town. We bought supplies and wine at the local grocery which has everything. The condo was beautiful and so comfortable. It was super clean and well stocked. Wish the FP had worked since a little cool the first day. Would definitely stay at that condo again

Best ever for us! We have stayed in many locations through our years, but there is just something extra special about Green Turtle Bay Resort. This was our 4th year to come back and we shall continue. Look no further for a restful beautiful spot to retreat. The condo was clean, the king bed is very comfortable and we so enjoy the lounging chairs. There are two instead of just one so we don't have to share. This is our little piece of Heaven :)

First time visitors to this resort. The weather was miserably hot and humid.
It didn't matter though because unit 340 was so fantastic we didn't really need to leave it. Beautifully decorated and everything you needed right there. Went to unwind from life and was truly able to do that in this unit. Lovely forested area.
Close to everything on campus. Staff in on site restaurants displayed genuine Southern charm. Had a great time relaxing. Went during the week so not so crowded. Was not noisy either when everyone showed up on the weekend.
Would definitely recommend and return.

We love our weekends at Green Turtle Bay! The condo was wonderful!! The only thing we were dissatisfied with was that there were so many trees between us and the lake that we could not see the lake and it was advertised as a lake view condo. Other than that it was wonderful!! We are already planning our next trip with a different cono in mind for that awesome view we love!!!
